Chris Sabo is a retired third baseman who played in the majors primarily the Cincinnati Reds from 1988-1993 & 1996. He also played for the Baltimore Orioles (1994), Chicago White Sox (1995) and St. Louis Cardinals (1995). Sabo was named Rookie of the Year with the Reds in 1988 and was named three times an All-Star. Sabo won a World Series with Cincinnati in 1990 after batting .583 with two homers, two walks and five RBI on 9 hits. He became a member of the Reds Hall of Fame in 2010. Sabo was drafted in the 2nd round by the Reds in the 1983 draft. He played five years in the minors and was twice named team mvp. Sabo made his Major League debut on April 4, 1988.

Prior to playing professional baseball, Sabo attended the University of Michigan, where in 1983 he was named first-team All-American by Baseball America and The Sporting News. Sabo grew up in Rosedale Park, Michigan and went to Detroit Catholic High School, where he played hockey, golf and baseball (Sabo played one game for the Niagara Falls Flyers of the Ontario Junior Hockey League as part of the 1979-1980 hockey season). In 2018, Sabo was named head baseball coach at Akron.
