Craig Simpson is a current broadcaster and retired hockey player who played in the NHL for 10 years for the Pittsburgh Penguins (1985-1988), Edmonton Oilers (1988-1993) and Buffalo Sabres (1994-1995). He was drafted with the second overall pick in the first round by Pittsburgh in 1985 and enjoyed much of his success with Edmonton, where he played with Hall of Famers Glenn Anderson and Mark Messier and won two Stanley Cup titles in 1988 and 1990. In 2013, Simpson became a member of the London Sports Hall of Fame in London, Ontario.

Simpson retired from playing in 1996 and went to work in broadcasting for The Sports Network, FoxSports Net and Rogers Sportsnet as an analyst for Oilers regional games before serving four seasons as an assistant with the Oilers. Simpson got back into broadcasting in 2007 when he joined CBC on its broadcast of Hockey Night In Canada. In 2009, Simpson competed with Olympic gold medalist Jamie Sale on Battle of the Blades.

Simpson was born in London, Ontario on February 15, 1967. He started playing competitive hockey with the Junior B London Diamonds before playing collegiately at Michigan State University, where he was named a CCHA First-Team All-Star and NCAA West First-Team All-American in 1985.
