Bryan Trottier is a former National Hockey League center who spent 18 seasons playing for the New York Islanders (1975-1990) and Pittsburgh Penguins (1990-1994). Trottier won a total of seven Stanley Cups, six as a player (four with New York and two with Pittsburgh) and one as an assistant coach. A 1997 inductee into the Hockey Hall of Fame, Trottier earned nine trips to the NHL All-Star Game and was twice named both first-team All-NHL and second-team All-NHL. He is the Islanders’ franchise leader in points, assists and games played.

A Calder Memorial Trophy winner in 1976 as the NHL’s best rookie, Trottier also won the Art Ross Trophy and Hart Memorial Trophy in 1979 as the league’s leading scorer and MVP, respectively. During his first Stanley Cup run with New York in 1980, Trottier was awarded the Conn Smythe Trophy as playoff MVP. After his playing days, Trottier spent time as an assistant coach for the Penguins and Colorado Avalanche, where he won his seventh and final Stanley Cup in 2001. He last coached with the Buffalo Sabres in 2014. Trottier was born on July 17, 1956 in Val Marie, Saskatchewan and became a member of the Canada Sports Hall of Fame in 2016.
