Dak Prescott has played quarterback for the Dallas Cowboys since being selected by the team in the 4th round of the 2016 draft. In his first year as Dallas’ starter in 2016, Prescott guided the team to a 13-3 record, throwing 23 touchdowns compared to just four interceptions. He also posted a completion percentage of 67.8 and threw for 3,667 yards while setting numerous Dallas franchise records, including most completions by a rookie in a season, most yards passing in a season by a rookie and best rookie season passer rating. For his efforts he was named to the Pro Bowl, the Pro Football Writers Association All-Rookie Team and was honored as the Pepsi NFL Rookie of the Year as well as NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year from the Associated Press. Prescott in 2018 earned his second trip to the Pro Bowl after he tossed 22 touchdown passes, threw for 3,885 yards and recorded a 67.7 completion percentage as the Cowboys finished 10-6 on the year.
Prescott was born on July 29, 1993 in Sulphur, Louisiana and went to Haughton High School prior to attending Mississippi State from 2011-2015. A collegiate standout during his time in Starkville, Prescott as a junior and senior in 2014 and 2015 threw for 57 touchdowns in route to earning first-team All-SEC honors in both years while twice winning the Conerly Trophy as the top football player in the state of Mississippi.
