David Justice played outfield in the majors from 1989-2002 with the Atlanta Braves (1989-1996), Cleveland Indians (1997-2000), New York Yankees (2000-2001) and Oakland Athletics (2002). He won two World Series – one with the Braves in 1995 and another with the Yankees in 2000. Justice was a three-time All-Star in 1993, 1994 and 1997 and won two Silver Slugger Awards in 1993 and 1997. He finished his playing days with a batting average of .279 along with 305 home runs and 1,017 RBI. He is a member of the Braves Hall of Fame.
In 1990, Justice hit .282 with 28 homers and 78 RBI, a performance that earned him N.L. Rookie of the Year honors. In 1993, he finished third in N.L. MVP voting behind a 40 home run, 120 RBI and a .270 batting average campaign. During the 1995 World Series championship season, Justice belted 24 homers with 78 RBI. The 1997 season - his first in Cleveland - saw Justice set a career-high with a .329 batting average while he notched 33 home runs with 101 RBI.
He was traded to the Yankees in the middle of the 2000 season and, in total for the year, he hit a career-best 41 home runs while also driving in 118 runs. That postseason, Justice was named the ALCS MVP and won his second championship after the Yankees swept the New York Mets, 4-0, in the Subway Series. After his playing career, Justice worked as a baseball commentator for ESPN as well as the YES Network covering the Yankees.
