Geno Torretta played college football at the University of Miami from 1989-1992 and is one of the most celebrated players in school history. He helped lead the Hurricanes to a national title in 1989 and 1991 and won the Heisman Trophy along with the Davey O’Brien, Maxwell, Walter Camp and Johnny Unitas Golden Arm awards in his senior year of 1992. That season, Toretta threw for over 3,000 yards. In total for his career, he recorded a 26-1 record and became a member of the College Football Hall of Fame in 2010.

Torretta was picked in the 7th round by the Minnesota Vikings in the 1993 draft and played for the Vikings, Detroit Lions, San Francisco 49ers, Seattle Seahawks and Indianapolis Colts. He also played for the NFL Europe’s Rhein Fire. Torretta retired at the conclusion of the season in 1997.

Since his playing days ended, Torretta has been involved with a variety of businesses, including CEO/Chairman of Touchdown Radio, a college football analyst for Sirius/XM Radio and Senior Vice President of GAMCO Asset Management. He was also president of the National University of Miami Alumni Association and an Orange Bowl committee member. Torretta was born on August 10, 1970 in Pinole, California and attended Pinole Valley High School.
