Golden Tate is a current NFL wide receiver who plays for the New York Giants. He previously played fro the Seattle Seahawks (2010-2013), Detroit Lions (2014-2018) and Philadelphia Eagles (2018). He was named to the Pro Bowl with the Lions in 2014 and was a member of the Seahawks’ team that won Super Bowl XLVIII over the Denver Broncos, 43-8. In that game, Tate caught three passes for 17 yards.

Tate was picked in the 2nd round out of Notre Dame by the Seahawks in the 2010 draft. Tate played in South Bend for three seasons from 2007-2009. His best season for the Fighting Irish came in 2009 when he caught 93 passes for 1,496 yards and 15 td’s. For his efforts, Tate was named winner of the Biletnikoff Award as the nation’s top wide receiver in college and was a first-team All-American.

Tate grew up in Hendersonville, Tennessee and went to John Paul II High School, where he competed in football, track and baseball. The school retired his jersey #23 in 2016. Aside from football, Tate also excelled at baseball and played two years of the sport in college. He was drafted by the Arizona Diamondbacks in 2007 and San Francisco Giants in 2010.
