Greg Luzinski is a retired outfielder and designated hitter who played in the Major Leagues for the Philadelphia Phillies (1970-1980) and Chicago White Sox (1981-1984). Nicknamed “The Bull”, Luzinski was a four-time All-Star – in 1978 he received the most votes in the National League - and was a member of the 1980 Phillies team that won the World Series over the Kansas City Royals, 4-2. For his career, he hit .276 with 307 home runs and 1,128 RBI. Luzinski was the 1975 National League RBI leader and won the Roberto Clemente Award in 1978. With the White Sox, he was named Designated Hitter of the Year in 1981 and 1983. Luzinski is a member of the Phillies Wall of Fame and, in 1989, was inducted into the National Polish-American Sports Hall of Fame.

Luzinski was born in Chicago, Illinois and attended Notre Dame High School. He made his MLB debut at the age of 19 on September 9, 1970 as a pinch hitter against the New York Mets. Upon his retirement, Luzinski served as head baseball coach at Holy Cross Academy in New Jersey from 1985 – 1992. He also opened Bull’s Barbecue at Citizens Bank Park, the Phillies home ballpark.
