Nate Archibald, affectionately nicknamed “Tiny”, is a former NBA point guard who played 14 professional seasons from 1970-1984 with the Cincinnati Royals/Kansas City-Omaha Kings/Kansas City Kings (1970-1976), New York Nets (1976-1977), Buffalo Braves (1977-1978), Boston Celtics (1978-1983) and Milwaukee Bucks (1983-1984.)

A 1991 inductee into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame, Archibald was six times named an NBA All-Star (1973, 1975, 1976, 1980-1982.) In 1981 with Boston, he helped the Celtics to an NBA title. That season, he earned All-NBA Second Team honors and was named the MVP of the annual All-Star Game. Archibald played in 80 regular season games for the Celtics during their championship season, averaging 13.8 points along with 7.7 assists per game.

In 1973, he led the NBA in points (34.0) and assists (11.4) per game, earning All-NBA First Team honors in the process. Archibald was also named All-NBA First Team in 1975 and 1976. The Kings have retired Archibald’s jersey #1 and he is a member of the NBA’s 50th Anniversary All-Time Team. Archibald played college basketball at UTEP, where he earned first-team All-WAC honors in 1970. He was a second round pick by Cincinnati in the 1970 NBA Draft. Archibald was born on September 2, 1948 in New York City.
