Nick Saban is a college football coach who has led the University of Alabama Crimson Tide since 2007. During that time, he has turned the Crimson Tide into one of the most dominant college football programs in history, as he’s led Alabama to five National Championships (2009, 2011, 2012, 2015 and 2017). During that time Alabama has captured six SEC titles as well. Before coming to Alabama, Saban coached LSU from 2000-2004, leading the Tigers to a National Championship in 2003.

One of the most decorated coaches in college football history, in 2008 Saban won the Walter Camp, AP College Football, Eddie Robinson, Home Depot, Sporting News and SEC Coach of the Year awards. He received the Bobby Dodd Coach of the Year award in 2014, the George Munger Award in 2016 and Walter Camp Award again in 2018.

Saban’s coaching days date back to 1973 when he became a graduate assistant at his alma mater, Kent State. He coached there through 1976 before spending time at several schools through 1982 coaching mainly defensive backs, including Syracuse, WVU, Ohio State and Navy. From 1983-87, Saban was defensive coordinator at Michigan State. He was head coach at Toledo in 1990 and returned to MSU as head coach from 1995-99. His NFL experience includes a stint as head coach of the Miami Dolphins from 2005-06. He is active with his charity, Nick’s Kids Foundation, which supports family, children, student and teacher causes.
