Dino Ciccarelli is a former NHL winger who played from 1980-1999 with the Minnesota North Stars (1980-1989), Washington Capitals (1989-1992), Detroit Red Wings (1992-1996), Tampa Bay Lightning (1996-1998) and Florida Panthers (1997-1999). In 2010, Ciccarelli was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame. During his career, he was named an NHL All-Star four times (1982, 1983, 1989, 1997).
Ciccarelli made a quick bang with the North Stars upon being called- up from the minor leagues in 1980-1981. While he played in just 32 games, Ciccarelli scored 18 goals and produced 30 points in helping Minnesota advance to the playoffs and Stanley Cup Finals that season before losing to the New York Islanders. Ciccarelli enjoyed a stellar postseason, posting 21 points and 14 goals, both of which are still NHL records for production by a rookie in the playoffs.
In 1981-1982, Ciccarelli led Minnesota with 55 goals while posting 51 assists for a career-high 106 points. Later in 1986-1987, he scored 52 goals to go along with 51 assists. With the Red Wings in 1992-1993, Ciccarelli recorded 97 points, his most since the 1986-1987 campaign with the North Stars. Internationally, Ciccarelli won a bronze medal representing Canada at the 1982 World Ice Hockey Championships. Since his playing days, Ciccarelli has operated a number of sports bars in Michigan.
