Doug Williams Booking Agent Details
Doug Williams played quarterback in the NFL for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers (1978-1982) and Washington Redskins (1986-1989). He also played for the USFL’s Oklahoma/Arizona Outlaws (1984-1985). Williams is best remembered for his time with the Redskins when he led the team to a Super Bowl XXII win against the Denver Broncos. Williams became the first African-American quarterback to start a Super Bowl and was named Super Bowl MVP after he passed for 340 yards and four touchdowns. In so doing, he also became the first player in the history of the Super Bowl to record four touchdown passes in both one quarter and a single half.
Prior to his NFL career, Williams played collegiately at Grambling State under the legendary coach Eddie Robinson. He started four years and led the Tigers to an overall record of 36-7 and three Southwestern Athletic Conference titles. He was twice named Black College Player of the Year. In 1977, Williams led college football in several categories, including total yards, touchdown passing yards and touchdowns passes and finished 4th in Heisman Trophy voting. Williams was selected by the Buccaneers in the 1st round of the 1978 NFL draft. After retirement, Williams went into coaching and served as head coach at Morehouse College (1997) and Grambling State (1998-2003, 2011-2013). He has also served as an executive for the Buccaneers and Redskins. Williams has received numerous honors, including induction into the Redskins Ring of Fame, Buccaneers Ring of Honor and College Football Hall of Fame.
