Gary Fencik Booking Agent Details
Gary Fencik is a former NFL safety who enjoyed a successful football career from 1976-1987, all with the Chicago Bears. Fencik was a staple on Chicago’s defense in the 1980s and holds the franchise record for interceptions with 38. A two-time Pro Bowl selection in 1980 and 1981, Fencik was three times named first-team All-Pro in consecutive years from 1980-1982. In 1985, he was a second-team All-Pro selection and that same season, he helped coach Mike Ditka and the legendary ‘85 Bears to a victory in Super Bowl XX over the New England Patriots, 46-10. Fencik in 2019 was ranked at No. 39 in the Chicago Tribune’s ranking of the 100 top Bears players of all-time.
Fencik helped facilitate a change in fortune for the Bears during his time in Chicago; from 1976-1983 the franchise struggled and went 57-60, but from 1984-1987 the team improved drastically, posting an overall record of 50-13 as Chicago turned into a powerhouse NFL team, evidenced by them winning a Super Bowl. Fencik attended Yale University and graduated in 1976. Shortly thereafter, he was selected in the 10th round of that year’s NFL Draft by the Miami Dolphins. The Dolphins cut him during the preseason and he was signed by the Bears, where he remained for the entirety of his career.
After his playing days, he worked in broadcasting in Chicago and later started a career in the finance industry, where he joined Adams Street Partners in 1995.
