Lance Briggs is a retired NFL linebacker who played professionally for 12 seasons from 2003-2014 with the Chicago Bears. Briggs recorded 1,173 tackles along with 15 sacks, 16 interceptions and forced 19 fumbles over the course of his career. For seven consecutive seasons, from 2005-2011, he was named to the Pro Bowl. During that time, he missed only four games. Briggs was named first-team All-Pro in 2005 and was a two-time second-team All-Pro selection in 2006 and 2009.

From 2004-2009, he recorded at least 102 tackles in each season. He set a career-high mark of 134 total tackles in 2006 while also recording two interceptions and four forced fumbles. Briggs was the Bears’ starting inside linebacker opposite Hall of Famer Brian Urlacher in Super Bowl XLI, which Chicago lost to the Indianapolis Colts, 29-17.

He attended college at the University of Arizona, where he was a two-time All-Pac-10 Conference pick. Chicago selected Briggs as the 68th overall pick in the 3rd round of the 2003 NFL Draft and he played all 16 games as a rookie. In 2004, he recorded the first of eight 100-tackle campaigns and was an alternate Pro Bowl selection. After his playing days ended, he served as a Bears studio analyst on the Football Aftershow on NBC Sports Chicago.
