Jamaal Charles is a retired NFL running back who played from 2008-2018 and is best remembered for his time with the Kansas City Chiefs from 2008-2016. He also played for the Denver Broncos (2017) and Jacksonville Jaguars (2018). Charles was a four-time Pro Bowl selection (2010, 2012-2014) and twice earned first-team All-Pro accolades in 2010 and 2013. In 2012, he was named second-team All-Pro. At the time of his retirement, Charles’ 5.4 yards per carry average was an NFL record among running backs with a minimum of 1,000 carries.

Although his 2011 season with Kansas City was hampered by injury, Charles in 2009 and 2010 Charles rushed for over 1,000 yards. He returned to form in 2012, rushing 285 times for a career-high 1,509 yards. In 2013 and 2014, he ran for 1,287 and 1,033 yards, respectively, leading the NFL with 12 rushing touchdowns in the former year.

Charles played college football for the University of Texas, where in 2005 he was a part of the Longhorns’ National Championship-winning team. That season he was named Big 12 Offensive Freshman of the Year following an 878-yard, 11-touchdown campaign. He also earned second-team All-Big 12 honors while in 2007, he was named first-team All-Big 12. In 2008, the Chiefs selected him in the 3rd round of that year’s NFL Draft.
