James Franklin Booking Agent Details
James Franklin has served as the head coach of the Penn State football team since 2014. Franklin has enjoyed success during his time in Happy Valley, including in 2017 when the Nittany Lions went 11-2 and finished the season with a win in the Fiesta Bowl and a No. 8 overall ranking. After back-to-back 7-6 seasons in his first two years at Penn State, Franklin in 2016 led the Nittany Lions to an 11-3 record and No. 7 overall ranking. That season Penn State won a Big Ten East title and Big Ten Championship. Franklin in 2016 won the Hayes-Schembechler Coach of the Year and Sporting News Coach of the Year awards as well as the Woody Hayes Trophy.
Prior to taking the reigns at Penn State, Franklin was head coach at Vanderbilt (2011-2013) and an assistant at Maryland (2008-2010, 2000-2004 ), Kansas State (2006-2007), the Green Bay Packers (2005), Idaho State (1999), Washington State (1998), James Madison (1997), Roskilde Kings of the Danish American Football Federation (1996), East Stroudsburg (1996) and Kutztown (1995).
As a head coach, Franklin led Vanderbilt to three straight bowl appearances in each of his years at the helm. The Commodores lost in the Liberty Bowl in 2011 but won the Music City Bowl in 2012 and the BBVA Compass Bowl in 2013. Both of the latter years, Franklin led Vanderbilt to a Top 25 ranking at the end of the season for the first time in the history of the school.
