James Laurinaitis played linebacker for the St. Louis Rams (2009-2015) and New Orleans Saints (2016). He was drafted by the Rams in the 2nd round of the 2009 NFL Draft. His rookie season, he won the Carroll Rosenbloom Award given to the top Rams rookie and was named by the Sporting News to its NFL All-Rookie Team.

Laurinaitis enjoyed an outstanding career at Ohio State from 2005-2008. He was a three-time consensus All-American, three-time first-time All-Big Ten and two-time Big Ten Defensive Player of the Year. Laurinaitis was also named recipient of the Bronko Nagurski Trophy (2006) as the nation’s best college defensive player, the Butkus Award (2008) as the nation’s best college linebacker and the Lott Trophy (2008) for his athletic achievements and personal character. He is the only player in Big Ten conference history to win two Defensive Player of the Year awards.

Laurinaitis was born Wayzata, Minnesota, and attended Wayzata High School, where in 2004 he was named Defensive Mr. Football in the state of Minnesota. His father is a WWE wrestler hall of famer and competed under the name Road Warrior Animal as part of the famed tag-team The Road Warriors. Laurinaitis announced his retirement from football in 2017 and began working in broadcasting for the Big Ten Network and SportsTime Ohio.
