Jason Taylor is a former NFL outside linebacker and defensive end who played from 1997-2011 for the Miami Dolphins, Washington Redskins and New York Jets. Taylor played football and basketball for the University of Akron, where he earned first-team All-MAC honors in football in 1995 and 1996. Taylor was a third round selection by the Dolphins in the 1997 NFL Draft and played for the Dolphins through the 2007 season. A member of the NFL 2000s All-Decade Team, Taylor was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2017, his first year of eligibility — just the fifth player to do so at the time.

He won two AFC Defensive Player of the Year Awards in 2002 and 2006 while also winning the NFL Defensive Player of the Year Award in 2006. He was a six-time Pro Bowler and won the Walter Payton NFL Man of the Year award, which honors a player’s work on the field as well as in the volunteer and charitable sectors.Taylor’s 139.5 career sacks ranks seventh all-time in NFL history. He recorded 775 tackles, eight interceptions and 47 forced fumbles in his career while never missing more than three games in his 15-year career. After retiring, Taylor was runner-up during the 2008 season of Dancing with the Stars.
