Joe Namath Booking Agent Details

Joe Namath, affectionately known as “Broadway Joe”, played quarterback in the American Football League and National Football League (after the two leagues merged) from 1965-1977, spending all but one season with the New York Jets. Namath earned a wide variety of accolades during his career. He was a four-time AFL All-Star (1965, 1967-1969) and AFL Rookie of the Year (1965.) After the AFL and NFL merged in 1969, Namath earned a trip to the Pro Bowl in 1972 and NFL Comeback Player of the Year honors in 1974. He became a member of the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1985. Namath was named a member of the AFL All-Time Team and his #12 jersey has been retired by the Jets.

Upon joining the Jets, Namath quickly established himself as one of the top players at his position as he led the NFL in pass attempts, completions and passing yards in 1966 and 1967. The Jets in 1968 went 11-3 and won an AFL East Division title. Namath guided the team to Super Bowl III against the heavily favored Baltimore Colts and, after famously guaranteeing a New York upset before the game, Namath delivered on his promise and led the Jets to victory, 16-7. Namath earned Super Bowl MVP honors and was also named the AFL MVP. In 1969, Namath won his second straight AFL MVP accolade, passing for 2,734 yards and 19 scores while quarterbacking the Jets to another AFL East Division title.

Born on May 31, 1943 in Beaver Falls, Pennsylvania, Namath played college football under legendary coach Paul “Bear” Bryant at the University of Alabama from 1962-1964.
He compiled a 29-4 mark during his time in Tuscaloosa, including a national championship in 1964. Considered one of the most colorful players in NFL history and a cultural icon, Namath was as popular off the field as he was on it. Besides being a pitchman for products such as Noxzema, Hanes and Ovaltine, he appeared on numerous tv shows, including “The Brady Bunch”, “The Love Boat” and “The Dean Martin Show.” Namath also served as guest host of “The Tonight Show.”
