Julian Edelman is an NFL wide receiver who has won three Super Bowls (XLIX, LI and LIII) with the New England Patriots. Edelman was named Super Bowl LIII MVP after he caught 10 passes for 142 yards and a touchdown in New England’s 13-3 win over the L.A. Rams. During the 2018 postseason, he totaled 26 passes for 388 yards. Edelman holds Super Bowl records for most receptions in a half with seven and career punt returns with eight. He trails only Hall of Fame wide receiver Jerry Rice in postseason receptions and yards receiving. In 2013, Edelman produced his first campaign of at least 1,000 yards when he caught a career-high 105 passes for a total of 1,056 yards and six touchdowns. For the 2016 season, Edelman has 98 receptions for a career-best 1,106 yards. The postseason saw him catch 21 passes for 342 yards in route to helping New England win Super Bowl LI.
Edelman was born on May 22, 1986 in Redwood City, California and coming out of high school, he played one year of junior college football at the College of San Mateo before transferring to Kent State in 2006. While in Ohio, he became a three-year starter at quarterback from 2006-2009 for the Golden Flashes. As a senior, he produced 1,820 yards of passing and also rushed for 1,370 yards as his total offensive output set a school record. He was picked in the 2009 NFL Draft by New England in the 7th round. Off the field, Edelman has a clothing brand called JE11 and has published two children’s books, Flying High and Flying High 2. He has made numerous cameos on tv, including America’s Next Top Model and Ballers.
