Mike Singletary spent his entire 12-year NFL career from 1981-1992 playing for the Chicago Bears. One of the all-time great linebackers, Singletary was picked by the Bears in the 1981 NFL Draft (2^nd round) and took over the starting job seven games into his rookie year. His 172 games started ranks as the 2^nd most all-time in Bears history. Singletary was 10 times named to the Pro Bowl and eight times named a First-Team All-Pro. He additionally was twice named the NFL Defensive Player of the Year in 1985 and 1988 and three times named the NFC Player of the Year in 1984, 1985 and 1988. Singletary was the defensive leader of the Bears’ teams of the mid-1980s, including their legendary Super Bowl XX-winning team of 1985, which was coached by Mike Ditka and featured the likes of Walter Payton, Jim McMahon, Dan Hampton, Richard Dent and William “Refrigerator” Perry. Singletary was named a member of the 1980s All-Decade Team and in 1998 was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame.

Born on October 9, 1958 in Houston, Texas, Singletary played college football at Baylor from 1977-1980. He was a two-time All-American and set a school record in 1978 with 232 tackles, which included an incredible 35 in a single game. He was three times named All-Southwest Conference and twice was the recipient of the Davey O’Brien Award. Singletary became a member of the College Football Hall of fame in 1995. After retiring from playing, Singletary went into coaching, spending time as an assistant with the Baltimore Ravens, San Francisco 49ers, Minnesota Vikings and Los Angeles Rams and as head coach of the 49ers in 2009-2010. Away from the gridiron, Singletary is an accomplished motivational speaker and has spoken to many Fortune 500 companies. A devout Christian, Singletary is also in-demand as a keynote speaker at faith-based events.
