Lloyd Carr Booking Agent Details
Lloyd Carr is a retired football coach who is best remembered for his time at the University of Michigan from 1980-2007. Before becoming the Wolverines head coach in 1995, Carr served as an assistant coach in Ann Arbor, including coaching defensive backs (1980-1986), defensive coordinator (1987-1990) and associate head coach (1990-1994). During his tenure as head coach from 1995-2007, Michigan had an overall record of 122-40 and shared or won outright five Big Ten titles. In 1997, he led Michigan to a 12-0 mark and a National Championship via a win in the Rose Bowl over Washington State. That season, Carr was named the Walter Camp Coach of the Year and AFCA Coach of the Year. He also won the Paul “Bear” Bryant Award and George Munger Award.
Carr presided over some of the best seasons in Wolverines football program history. During his 13-year head coaching career, Michigan made a postseason bowl appearance every year and never finished a season with a record worse than 7-5. Only once under his leadership, in 2005, did the Wolverines fail to end the season ranked in either the Coaches or AP Poll. In 2007, his final year of coaching before retiring, Michigan went 9-4, won the Capital One Bowl and finished the season ranked 19th in the country. That year, he was named the Bobby Dodd Coach of the Year. In 2011, Carr was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame.
Prior to his at Michigan, Carr worked as an assistant coach at a number of high schools and colleges, including Eastern Michigan, Illinois and West Virginia. He got his start in coaching in 1968 when he joined the staff at Nativity High School in Michigan.
