Matt Forte played running back in the NFL from 2008-2017 with the Chicago Bears (2008-2015) and New York Jets (2016-2017). A 2nd round selection by the Bears in the 2008 NFL Draft, Forte rushed for 9,796 yards and 54 touchdowns during his career, averaging 4.2 yards per carry. In 2008, his rookie campaign, Forte rushed for 1,238 yards and scored eight touchdowns. He was named to the Pro Bowl for the first time in 2011 behind a 997-yard campaign that saw him produce a career-best 4.9 yards per carry. Forte in 2013 earned another Pro Bowl selection thanks to his career-best 1,339 yards on the ground and nine rushing touchdowns, which also was the most of his career.
Known as a consistent threat through the air as well, Forte caught a total of 554 passes for 4,672 yards during his career. In 2014, Forte had career-highs in receptions (102) and receiving yards (808), which combined with his 1,038 rushing yards that year, put him at 1,846 all-purpose yards for the season. During his time in Chicago, Forte was twice given the Brian Piccolo Award, which is presented to a Bears player with exemplary loyalty, courage, teamwork and dedication in the spirit of the late Brian Piccolo. Born on December 10, 1985 in Lake Charles, Louisiana, Forte played college football at Tulane and was an All-Conference USA selection in 2005 and 2007. After his playing days, Forte worked as an analyst for NBC Sports Chicago on its “Football Aftershow”.
