Patrick Marleau played in the NHL for 24 seasons from 1997-2021, spending all but a little more than two seasons with the San Jose Sharks. Marleau is the all-time leader in NHL history with 1,779 games played and is one of only five players ever to play at least 1,400 games with a single team. He also is the 4th player in league history to play in 900 straight games. Marleau is San Jose’s all-time leader in goals (518), points (1,102), shots (3,899), games played (1,551), consecutive games played (624) and many other franchise records. Marleau played in three All-Star Games in 2004, 2007 and 2009 and was named the Sharks’ Player of the Year in 2004, 2009 and 2010. He also was honored in 2006 by the San Jose Mercury News as its South Bay Sportsperson of the Year.

Born in Swift Current, Saskatchewan on September 15, 1979, Marleau was drafted by San Jose with the 2nd overall pick in the 1997 NHL Draft and made his league debut on October 1, 1997. Internationally, Marleau won two Olympic gold medals representing Canada, first at the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver and again at the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi. He also won gold medals representing Canada at the 2003 Ice Hockey World Championships and 2004 World Cup of Hockey.
