Tom Lehman is a professional golfer who won five time on the PGA Tour, including in 1996 The Open Championship. In the mid-1990s, he established himself as one of the most dominant golfers in the world when he was ranked #1 in the Official World Golf Rankings. Lehman had a total of top 10 finishes at the Masters, U.S. Open and The Open Championship during his career and is the only golfer ever to receive Player of the Year accolades on the PGA Tour, PGA Tour Champions and Web.com Tour.
Lehman’s first PGA Tour victory came in 1994 at the Memorial Tournament. In 1995, he emerged victorious at the Colonial National Invitational, which propelled him to his most successful season the next year. In 1996, Lehman won both The Open Championship and The Tour Championship, earning him a variety of accolades including PGA Player of the Year and PGA Tour Player of the Year honors. He also led the PGA Tour in scoring average that year, winning the Vardon Trophy, and was the leading money earner. He has competed on three Ryder Cup teams and, in 2006, served as captain.
After turning 50, Lehman joined the PGA Tour Champions in 2009, where he found immediate success by winning his debut tournament - the Liberty Mutual Legends of Golf - along with partner Bernard Langer. He won the Senior PGA Championship in 2010 and captured back-to-back Regions Traditions in 2011 and 2012. Lehman was born on March 7, 1959 in Austin, Minnesota and played collegiately at the University of Minnesota. A devout Christian, Lehman is a popular speaker at faith-based events.
