That season, Iverson enjoyed the deepest postseason run of his career, helping the 76ers to the NBA Finals where they lost to the Los Angeles Lakers in five games. In 22 playoff games, Iverson averaged 32.9 points. Iverson’s long list of individual accolades include three All-NBA First Team (1999, 2001, 2005) selections, with a further three All-NBA Second Team (2000, 2002, 2003) nods. In 1996-1997, Iverson’s first year in the league, he averaged 23.5 points and 7.5 rebounds per game, winning NBA Rookie of the Year honors. He was a consensus All-American at Georgetown prior to being picked first overall by Philadelphia in the 1996 NBA Draft.
