Blaine Bishop played safety in the NFL from 1993-2002, primarily with the Houston Oilers/Tennessee Titans but also one season at the end of his career with the Philadelphia Eagles. Bishop posted 728 career tackles with 15.5 sacks, 11 fumble recoveries and five picks. In 1994, Blaine recorded a career-high 112 tackles, paving the way the next season for his first Pro Bowl selection after he recovered a career-best four fumbles and scored the lone defensive touchdown of his career on a 62-yard interception return.
Bishop was named to the Pro Bowl for a second consecutive season in 1996 after registering 109 tackles. In 1997, he earned his third straight Pro Bowl selection in the first year that Houston moved to Tennessee, becoming the Titans. In 1998, he tallied 85 tackles along with three sacks, a career-high. Bishop became a Pro Bowler for the fourth time in 2000 in a season that saw Tennessee go 13-3 and culminated with a berth in Super Bowl XXXIV. Bishop played college football at Ball State, where he was a two-time All-Mid-American Conference selection in 1990 and 1992 before being drafted in the eighth round by Houston in the 1993 NFL Draft. Since retiring from playing, Bishop has been part of the Titans Radio team, hosted a sports talk radio show in Nashville and served as an assistant football coach at Davidson Academy.
