Chipper Jones is a former MLB third baseman who played his entire career with the Atlanta Braves, in 1993 and from 1995-2012. His #10 jersey was retired by the Braves in 2013 shortly after his retirement and, in 2018 in his first year of eligibility, Jones was elected to the Baseball Hall of Fame. He is also a member of the Braves Hall of Fame.
An eight-time All-Star (1996-98, 2000, 2001, 2008, 2011 and 2012) Jones won a World Series ring with Atlanta in 1995 in a year that saw him lead MLB rookies with 86 RBI. For his play, Jones was named by the Sporting News as the N.L. Rookie of the Year. In 1999, after hitting .319 with 45 home runs and 110 RBI, Jones helped lead the Braves to a spot in the World Series against the New York Yankees and was named the N.L. MVP. That same year Jones earned a Silver Slugger award and did the same in 2000 when he batted .330. In 2008 at age 36, he led the majors in batting average with a .364 mark.
Jones retired after the 2012 season with a lifetime .303 batting average, 2,726 hits and 468 homers. He was the Braves’ first-round selection in the 1990 MLB Draft. Off the field, Jones is a hunting enthusiast and appeared on the television shows Buck Commander (Outdoor Channel) and Major League Bowhunter (Sportsman Channel).
