James Harden has played in the NBA for the Houston Rockets since 2012. Prior to that, he played for the Oklahoma City Thunder from 2009-2012. As one of the most of the dominating players during his time in the league, Harden has been named to the NBA All-Star team seven times and a first-team All-NBA selection five times.
In 2018, he was named the NBA MVP after helping the Rockets to a best-ever 65 victories and posting a career-best average of 30.4 points per game. He has also led the NBA in scoring twice in 2018 and 2019 along with leading the league in assists in 2017. Internationally, Harden has twice played for Team USA, winning a gold medal both at the 2012 Summer Olympics in London and 2014 FIBA World Cup tournament.
Harden was selected in 2009 by Oklahoma City in the 1st round (3rd pick overall) out of Arizona State. During his time in college, he received Pac-10 Player of the Year and consensus All-American honors in 2009 and was twice named first-team All-Pac 10. Arizona State retired his jersey #13 in 2015.
Harden grew up in the Los Angeles, California area and went to Artesia High School, where he led his team to back-to-back state titles after going 33-1 and 33-2, respectively. Harden was honored as a McDonald’s All-American and second-team Parade All-American his senior year.
