Jim Edmonds is a retired MLB center fielder who enjoyed a successful playing career from 1993-2010 with the California/Anaheim Angels (1993-1999), St. Louis Cardinals (2000-2007), San Diego Padres (2008), Chicago Cubs (2008) and Milwaukee Brewers/Cincinnati Reds (2010). Edmonds was a four-time All Star selection in 1995, 2000, 2003 and 2005. He was also known for his defense and, during his career, he won a total of eight Gold Glove Awards, including six straight from 2000-2005.

During that stretch, Edmonds hit at least 29 home runs and had a minimum of 83 RBI in each of those seasons. In 2000, he came in fourth for N.L. MVP voting behind a 42 home run and 108 RBI campaign. He hit .301 in 2004, winning his lone Silver Slugger award. In 2006, Edmonds helped St. Louis win the World Series, giving Edmonds his first championship ring. For his eight years spent in St. Louis, he was named to the Cardinals Hall of Fame in 2014. In total for his 18-year career, Edmonds hit .284 with 393 homers and 1,199 RBI. ESPN ranked him as the 12th-best MLB player for the first decades of the 2000s (out of 100 selected). After retiring, he worked as a broadcaster for Fox Sports Midwest and opened several restaurants.
