Julie Ertz is a member of the United States Women’s National Soccer Team that won the 2019 FIFA Women’s World Cup. She scored a goal in the game against Chile that the U.S. won 3-0. Ertz was also a member of the U.S. team that won the World Cup in 2015 and was named a member of the World Cup All-Star Team after playing the entire time in all seven games. Ertz made her first appearance on the national team in 2013 against Scotland in an international friendly match. In 2017, she was named by the United States Soccer Federation as the Female Athlete of the Year. She was also a finalist for the award in 2018 that ended up going to Alex Morgan.

Ertz grew up in Mesa, Arizona and attended Santa Clara University from 2010-2013 where she received a host of honors. She was WCC Freshman of the Year in 2010, NSCAA first-team All-American in 2011, U.S. Soccer Young Female Athlete of the Year in 2012 and WCC Player of the Year in 2013. Outside of international completion, Ertz has played for the Chicago Red Stars of the National Women’s Soccer League since 2014 when she was drafted by Chicago third overall. She is married to Philadelphia Eagles tight end Zach Ertz.
