Larry Fitzgerald is an NFL wide receiver who has played in the league since 2004 for the Arizona Cardinals. Fitzerald has been one of the most prolific and consistent receivers of the 21st Century as he’s earned 11 trips to the Pro Bowl.
He ranks in the top five all-time in numerous NFL receiving categories, including receptions and receiving yards. Additionally, Fitzgerald owns close to 40 Cardinals franchise records, including most receiving yards, receptions and receiving touchdowns.
In 2008, he caught 96 passes for a career-high 1,431 yards while scoring 12 touchdowns. That year, the Cardinals advanced to Super Bowl XLIII but lost to Pittsburgh, 27-23. Fitzgerald had two touchdowns in the game and, throughout the postseason, caught 30 passes for a total of 546 yards and seven scores, all of which set new NFL postseason receiving records. For his efforts that season, he was named first-team All-Pro, while in 2009 and 2011 he earned second-team All-Pro honors.
A first-round pick out of Pittsburgh in 2003, Fitzgerald that year was the Heisman Trophy runner-up and was awarded both the Walter Camp and Fred Biletnikoff awards as the nation’s top wideout collegiately. He was also named the Big East Offensive Player of the Year and was an All-Conference selection and unanimous All-American. In 2013, Pittsburgh retired his jersey # 1. Well-known for a long history of off-the-field work and a presence in the community, in 2016 Fitzgerald was honored as the Walter Payton NFL Man of the Year.
