Mark Ingram is a former NFL running back who played for the New Orleans Saints (2011-2018, 2021-2022, Baltimore Ravens (2019-2020) and Houston Texans (2021). A first-round pick by the Saints in the 2011 NFL draft, Ingram was named to the Pro Bowl three times during his career in 2014, 2017 and 2020.
In 2014, he rushed for a then-career-high of 964 yards, averaging 4.3 yards per carry and scoring nine touchdowns. By the 2016 season, he had entrenched himself as the Saints’ starting tailback and, by year’s end, produced his first 1000-yard-plus (1,043) campaign, averaging a career-best 5.1 yards per carry. Ingram also began to thrive in New Orleans’ offense as a threat through the air. From 2011-2014, he registered a total of just 288 receiving yards; from 2016-2018. he had 1,140. The 2017 season saw Ingram make his second Pro Bowl behind career-highs in rushing attempts (230), rushing yards (1,124), touchdowns (12) as well as receptions (58) and receiving yards (416). In 2019, his first year in Baltimore, he produced his third 1000-yard-plus season, finishing the year with 1,018 yards on the ground.
Ingram had a storied collegiate career at the University of Alabama. In 2009, he became the first Crimson Tide player to win the Heisman Trophy. He was also named the SEC Offensive Player of the Year and Sporting News Player of the Year that year and helped lead the school to a perfect 14-0 record and a BCS National Championship win over Texas. After retiring from football, Ingram worked for Fox Sports on its Big Noon Kickoff Show.
