Andruw Jones is a former MLB outfielder who played from 1996-2012, mainly with the Atlanta Braves (1996-2007) but also the Los Angeles Dodgers (2008), Texas Rangers (2009), Chicago White Sox (2010) and New York Yankees (2011-2012). Jones also played in Japan in Nippon Professional Baseball from 2013-2014 with the Tohoku Rakuten Golden Eagles. A five-time All-Star (2000, 2002, 2003, 2005, 2006), Jones hit 434 home runs in his career. His defensive prowess as an outfielder was recognized by his winning of 10 consecutive Golden Glove Awards from 1998-2007.
Jones placed fifth in the 1997 National League Rookie of the Year voting after hitting 18 home runs with 70 RBI. Jones established himself early in his career as one of the most consistent power hitters in baseball. During his peak years, from 1998-2007, he averaged nearly 35 home runs per season. In 2005, Jones had arguably his most dominant professional season, leading all of baseball with 51 home runs, a career-high, while leading the N.L. with 128 RBI. In addition to being named an All-Star and winning a Silver Slugger and Gold Glove, Jones was the N.L. MVP runner-up for the year. In five separate seasons (2000, 2002, 2003, 2005, 2006), Jones received N.L. MVP votes, finishing in the top 15 in four of those five years. He is a member of the Braves Hall of Fame.
