Brian Jordan is a retired two-sport star who played both professional baseball and football. He is in a select group of athletes who played both sports, joining the likes of Bo Jackson, Deion Sanders and Jim Thorpe. Jordan was picked in the 1st round by the St. Louis Cardinals in the 1988 MLB draft and played outfield from 1992-2006 for the Cardinals, Atlanta Braves, Los Angeles Dodgers and Texas Rangers. He was picked in the 7th round by Buffalo in the 1989 NFL draft and played safety from 1989-1991 for the Atlanta Falcons. In total for his career, Jordan recorded four quarterback sacks and five interceptions in football and hit .282 with 821 RBI and 184 homers in baseball. He was named a baseball All-Star in 1999 and an alternate Pro Bowler in 1991.

Jordan grew up in Baltimore, Maryland and attended Millford Mill High School before attending college at the University of Richmond. Upon retirement, Jordan spent time as a baseball analyst, working for the Braves’ AAA team in Gwinnett along with pre-and-post game duties in Atlanta on FOX Sports South. Additionally, Jordan founded the Brian Jordan Foundation and authored a children’s book titled “I told You I Can Play”.
