Jeff Francoeur is a retired MLB outfielder who played from 2005-2016 with the Atlanta Braves (2005-2009, 2016), New York Mets (2009-2010), Texas Rangers (2010), Kansas City Royals (2011-2013), San Francisco Giants (2013), San Diego Padres (2014), Philadelphia Phillies (2015) and Miami Marlins (2016).
Francoeur made his Major League debut on July 7, 2005 and placed third in that season’s N.L. Rookie of the Year voting after hitting 14 home runs with 45 RBI in just 70 games played. In 2006, he hit a career-high 29 homers along with 103 RBI. He won a Gold Glove for his defense in 2007 while with the Braves and, for the second straight year, played in all 162 regular season games. That season, Francoeur recorded a career-best 105 RBI and 188 hits. In addition to his MLB play, Francoeur represented the United States in the 2006 World Baseball Classic (among his teammates was Chipper Jones, with whom he played with in Atlanta).
Off the baseball diamond, Francoeur has been active in the community in Atlanta and has supported such organizations as Dream House for Medically Fragile Children. A devout Christian, Francoeur wrote “Joshua 1:9” on his batting glove. In 2017, he became a tv analyst for Braves baseball games on Fox Sports and, in 2019, was hired by TBS to work the playoffs alongside the likes of fellow broadcasters Ernie Johnson, Ron Darling and Brian Anderson.
