Joe Jacoby was an offensive tackle for the Washington Redskins from 1981-1993. He was a member of the original “Hogs” offensive line along with Russ Grimm, Jeff Bostic, Mark May and George Starke. Jacoby played an integral role in the Redskins offense and was a three-time Super Bowl champion (Super Bowls XVII, XXII and XXVI). In Super Bowl XVII, he was the lead blocker for future Hall of Famer John Riggins touchdown run that helped clinch a win over the Miami Dolphins. In that game, the Redskins set a Super Bowl rushing record with 276 yards (the Redskins would break that record in Super Bowl XXII five years later).

Jacoby was a four-time Pro Bowl selection and is a member of the Redskins Ring of Fame. He was also named to the NFL 1980s All-Decade Team and one of the 80 Greatest Redskins as selected in 2002 by a panel in recognition of the team’s 70th anniversary. Jacoby was born in Louisville, Kentucky and played college football at the University of Kentucky, where he started from 1978-1980. He went undrafted and signed with the Redskins as a free agent in 1981. Upon retiring Jacoby owned a car dealership and served as an assistant football coach at Shenandoah University and Concordia University Chicago.
