Joe Panik is a MLB second baseman who spent nearly six seasons with the San Francisco Giants from 2014 – 2019 after being selected by the team in the 1st round of the 2011 MLB Draft. He also played for the New York Mets in 2019. Panik made his debut in the majors on June 21, 2014, hitting .305 in 73 games in his inaugural season for the Giants. During the postseason that year, Panik hit a home run in the deciding fifth game of the NLCS against St. Louis, helping the Giants to a spot in the World Series. San Francisco would go on to beat the Kansas City Royals in seven games, earning Panik a championship ring.

He was an All-Star in 2015, hitting eight home runs with 37 RBI and a batting average of.312. After the 2016 season, Panik was awarded a Gold Glove, becoming the first Giants second baseman since 1993 to win one. At the plate that season, he hit 10 homers along with 62 RBI. Panik enjoyed a notable college baseball career at St. Johns, where he earned All-American honors as a junior in 2009 from the American Baseball Coaches Association, Louisville Slugger and Baseball America. He was born on October 30, 1990 in Yonkers, New York.
