Kam Chancellor played strong safety for the Seattle Seahawks from 2010-2018 and was an integral part of the team that won Super Bowl XLVIII by defeating the Denver Broncos, 43-8. Chancellor was a four-time Pro Bowl selection, two-time second-team All-Pro and was a member of Seattle’s “Legion of Boom” defense (along with original members Earl Thomas, Brandon Browner, Richard Sherman, Byron Maxwell and Walter Thurmond). During his time in Seattle, Chancellor recorded 606 tackles with 9 forced fumbles and 12 interceptions.
Chancellor was born in Norfolk, Virginia and attended Maury High School, where he played both safety and quarterback and, during his senior season, amassed over 500 rushing and 2,000 receiving yards. He was named second-team All-Tidewater by the Virginian Pilot and first-team All-Eastern District. Chancellor played collegiately at Virginia Tech and helped the Hokies claim two ACC Championships, in 2007 & 2008. In 2009, he was named second-team All-ACC. Chancellor was drafted by the Seahawks 133rd overall in the fifth round of the 2010 NFL Draft. He was the second safety selected by the Seahawks that year, behind Earl Thomas who they picked in the first round. During his rookie season, Chancellor recorded 23 tackles, one forced fumble, one sack and a pass deflection in 16 starts.
