Michael Young is a retired MLB infielder who played professionally from 2000-2013. He spent the vast majority of his career (2000-2012) with the Texas Rangers before spending parts of the 2013 season with the Los Angeles Dodgers and Philadelphia Phillies. A career .300 hitter, Young amassed 2,375 hits and 1,030 RBI during his MLB days. He is a member of the Rangers Hall of Fame and also had his jersey #10 retired by the team in 2019.

Young seven times was named an All-Star (2004-2009, 2011) while in 2005, he won an American League batting title behind his .331 average. Young’s 221 hits that season also led the entire league. In 2006, Young hit a two-run triple in the ninth inning of that year's MLB All-Star Game that won the game for the American League, a feat that earned him MVP honors. Known also for his defensive prowess, Young in 2008 earned a Gold Glove.

After he retired from baseball, Young served as a special advisor to the Rangers general manager. He has been an active philanthropist, notably serving as a sponsor for the Wipe Out Kids’ Cancer program while also establishing the Michael Young Family Hispanic Scholarship Program. In 2008 and 2011, he was named the Marvin Miller Man of the Year Award winner.
