One of the most recognizable broadcast faces of college football, Rece Davis has served as host of ESPN’s College GameDay since 2015 alongside Desmond Howard, Lee Corso, Kirk Herbstreit, Maria Taylor and David Pollack. Davis’ work on College GameDay earned him three times the Sports Emmy for Best Weekly Studio Show from 2016-2018. He was also twice nominated for Outstanding Sports Personality in the category of Studio Host.

Since joining ESPN in 1995, Davis has appeared on numerous other network shows, which includes serving as the on-site host for ESPN’s coverage of the NCAA Final Four and College Football Playoff. He has also appeared on RPM 2Night, NBA 2Night, SportsCenter and ESPN’s broadcast of the NFL Draft. Additionally, Davis worked as host for ABC during its broadcast of the 2006 and 2009 FIFA World Cup and has also covered high-profile horse racing events during the Triple Crown season. Davis was the recipient of the Lester Jordan Award (2019) and Jake Wade Award (2016) for his contributions to collegiate athletics.

Before joining ESPN, Davis worked as a sports reporter/anchor in Flint, Michigan for WJRT-TV from 1993-1995. Prior to that, he was sports director and anchor at WRBL-TV in Columbus, Georgia from 1988-1993. While attending college at the University of Alabama, Davis worked as a reporter for WCFT-TV in Tuscaloosa and for various media outlets throughout the state. Born on December 14, 1965 in Muscle Shoals, Alabama, Davis graduated in 1998. In 2001, he was named outstanding alumnus by the Broadcast Department of the School of Communication. He became a member of the school’s College of Communication and Information Sciences Hall of Fame in 2019.
