Tiki Barber is a former professional football player who played 10 seasons in the NFL as a running back for the New York Giants. Barber was named a Pro Bowler in his last three seasons from 2004 to 2006. In two of those years, he led the league in yards from scrimmage, surpassing 2,000 yards in each of those two seasons. His lone First-Team All-Pro selection came in 2005 which was his most productive season of his career when he rushed for 1,860 yards on a league-high 411 touches and had a league-leading 2,390 yards from scrimmage. Barber is also the all-time leading rusher in Giants history with 10,449 yards to his name and 3,552 yards more than Rodney Hampton, the next player on that list. Barber and the Giants made Super Bowl XXXV in 2001, only to fall to the Baltimore Ravens by the score of 34-7. His identical twin brother Ronde played cornerback for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Born and raised in Roanoke, Va., Barber played at the University of Virginia for three seasons where he became ACC Player of the Year in 1996 after rushing for 1,360 yards with 14 touchdowns, averaging 5.4 yards per carry. He was selected in the second round as the 36th overall pick in the 1997 NFL Draft by the Giants. After his playing career, Barber spent time with NBC as a correspondent for The Today Show and Football Night in America.
