Tommy DeVito is an NFL quarterback for the New York Giants. He played collegiately at Syracuse from 2017-2021 and one year at Illinois before signing as an undrafted free against with New York. As a rookie in 2023, following injuries to Giants starter Daniel Jones and backup Tyrod Taylor, DeVito became the starter for the remainder of the year and became an overnight sensation in New York. In nine games (six starts), DeVito led the Giants to a 3-3 record, throwing eight touchdowns and three interceptions for 1,101 yards, adding 196 rushing yards.
After picking up wins over the Washington Commanders and New England Patriots, DeVito went 17 of 21 with 158 passing yards, a touchdown and 71 rushing yards in a 24-22 victory over the Green Bay Packers. In the latter game, DeVito drove the Giants down the field late in the fourth quarter for a game-winning field goal and was named NFC Offensive Player of the Week for his efforts. He finished his rookie year with an 89.2 passer rating and 64% completion rate.
Collegiately, DeVito led Illinois to an 8-5 record in 2022, his lone season at the school, passing for 2,650 yards with 15 touchdowns and four interceptions, as the Fighting Illini made an appearance in the ReliaQuest Bowl.
